1) The full form of LG is Lieutenant Governor. In India, LG is in charge of a Union Territory (U.T). However, the rank of Lieutenant Governor is only available in the 3 U.T of India, i.e. the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Delhi and Puducherry. Under the Union Territory, LG has the same responsibilities and powers in the state as a governor has, and at the union level, the President has in India.
The LGs are chosen for a 5-year duration by the President of India. His term can be either suspended by the President of India or resigned from the role.
