On April 6, 2022, the National Testing Agency (NTA) invited online applications for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-2022). CUET-UG will be conducted for admission to the undergraduate courses in Central Universities, for the academic year 2022-23 from July 15, 2022, to August 20, 2022 at various exam centres spread over 500 Indian cities and 10 foreign cities.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is an autonomous body, which was established by the Ministry of Education under the Department of Higher Education. It will conduct the CUET examination, host answer keys, invite challenges, declare results and host scorecards..

Overview of CUET (UG) 2022
Common University Entrance Test (CUET) aims to provide a common platform, which will provide equal opportunities to candidates who plan to join UG programmes in Central Universities across the country. CUET will have a wider reach and candidates applying to Central Universities for UG programmes have to appear for just one exam.
CUET UG Notification
The CUET notification for undergraduate programmes was published by the National Testing Agency on March 26, 2022. The CUET-UG 2022 notification can be easily downloaded from the official website, i.e., cuet.samarth.nic.in. The last date to submit the CUET-UG 2022 online application form was May 6, 2022, but it was later extended.
The notification for the 2023 exam is yet to be released. All updates pertaining to the forthcoming CUET-UG exam will be made available on this page.
Candidates who wish to prepare for the CUET-UG 2023 exam should go through the “Information Bulletin” from the previous year to get an idea of the exam pattern, syllabus, marking scheme, etc. The CUET-UG (2022) notification can be downloaded from the official website. Duration of the Exam
The exam will be conducted in 2 slots per day as per the schedule released by the NTA. Details of the duration and exam timings are given below.

- Slot 1 (morning shift): In slot 1, a candidate can take up to 4 tests only (One Language from Section IA, a maximum of two domain-specific Subjects from Section II and One General Test from Section III)
- Slot 2 (afternoon shift): In slot 2, a candidate can take up to 5 tests as follows:
- One Language from Section IA & IB and a maximum of four domain-specific Subjects from Section II, or
- Two Languages from Section IA & IB and a maximum of three domain-specific Subjects from Section II.
How to apply for CUET (UG) 2022?
Candidates should read the instructions given in the ‘Information Bulletin’ released by NTA before filling in the online application form. Candidates can follow the steps given below to apply for the CUET (UG) 2022:
- Visit the website cuet.samarth.ac.in and click on the ‘Register’ button given on the home page.
- A new page containing the instructions and procedures will be displayed. Candidates must read these instructions, tick the check box (I have downloaded the Information Bulletin of CUET (UG) – 2022) and then select the ‘Click here to Proceed’ button.
- A new page will appear. Candidates should fill in their personal details, present address and other details. After filling in the relevant information, candidates should choose a password and fill in the security pin in the ‘Registration Form’.
- After filling in the necessary details, you should preview the information. If you need to make any changes to the registration form, then click on “Edit Registration Details”. After verifying, click on the ‘submit and send OTP to mobile’ button.
- After successfully completing the OTP verification process, applicants will receive the application form number on their registered email ID or mobile number. Applicants should note down the application form number for future reference.
- Candidates should log in using the application form number and the password.
- Click on ‘Continue application form’ and complete filling in the application form. Candidates need to fill in their educational qualification details, select the University name and programme, test paper for slots 1 and 2 of the examination, upload relevant documents including their photograph and signature etc. Select ‘Save’ after filling in the required information in the application form.
- After saving the information, preview the entire application form and click on all the checkboxes in the particulars checklist.
- Select final submission and pay the application fee.
- Take a printout of the Confirmation Page for future reference.
Application Fee for CUET (UG) 2022
- Application fee has to be paid online only through Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI, or Paytm Services
- Processing charges and GST have to be paid in addition to the application fee.
- A Confirmation Page of the online application form will be generated only after the successful payment of the application fee. If candidates are unable to access the confirmation page then they should contact the bank/payment gateway on the helpline number and email given in the ‘Information Bulletin’ released by the NTA.

Eligibility Criteria for CUET (UG) 2022
The eligibility criteria for candidates who will appear for the upcoming CUET (UG) 2022 is given below:
- Candidates who have passed the class 12th or equivalent examination or are appearing in 2022 irrespective of their age can appear in the CUET (UG) – 2022. However, candidates have to fulfil the age criteria if it is specified by a particular University to which the candidate wishes to apply.
- There is no age limit for candidates who want to apply for CUET (UG) 2022.
- The existing policies of respective Universities with regard to reservations, qualification, subject combinations, etc. will be applicable to candidates for admission into these Universities through CUET (UG) – 2022. Therefore, candidates should carefully read the eligibility criteria of Universities to which they wish to apply.
- Candidates have to fulfil the programme-specific criteria laid down by the Universities they wish to apply for.
CUET Reservation Policy
Candidates should go through the reservation policy of Central Universities where they wish to study. They should upload all the required certificates while filling in the online application form in order to be eligible under the prescribed reservation policy.
Scheme of CUET (UG) 2022 Examination
CUET (UG) 2022 will be a Computer Based Test (CBT). It will comprise Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The total marks allotted for each section is 200 and every question will carry 5 marks. There is negative marking and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. The CUET exam is divided into three sections, namely:
- Section IA – 13 Languages (As a medium and “Language”)
- Section IB – 20 Languages
- Section II – 27 Domain-Specific Subjects
- Section III – General Test
Points to Remember: CUET (UG) 2022
- Candidates can choose any Language/Domain specific Subjects/General Test or a combination as per the requirements of the course in the specific University.
- Section IB has to be attempted only if candidates want to join a degree programme in any one (or more) of the 20 languages.
- Section II will test candidates in the core subjects that they wish to pursue.
- Section III is not compulsory. Candidates need to write this test only if it is a requirement for the degree programme they are applying to.
- The choice of Tests/Subjects depend on the course/s chosen by the candidate and the University/ies where admission is sought. A Candidate can take a maximum of 9 tests in the following manner
- Maximum of 2 languages from Section IA and Section IB taken together, maximum of 6 Domain Subjects from Section II and General Test from Section III. OR
- Maximum of 3 languages from Section IA and Section IB taken together, maximum of 5 Domain Subjects from Section II and General Test from Section III.
- Candidates should select those Domain Subjects that they have already studied in class 12. In case a particular subject is not there in the CUET Domain Subject list, then candidates can choose a subject that is most similar to what they have studied in class 12.
In order to opt for Languages, domain-specific Subjects and General Test, the Candidate must refer to the requirements of his/her intended University.
Important Note: It is not mandatory to choose any one or more of the tests given in the table above. The choice of tests should depend on the course/s opted by the candidate and the University/ies requirements where admission is sought.
Medium of the Examination
Candidates can choose the medium of the examination while filling in the online application form. The tests are offered in 13 languages (other than the ‘Language’ test) and candidates have to choose any 1 language from the list given below. Candidates should go through specific University’s eligibility criteria before selecting the medium of examination. Candidates can choose any 1 language as their medium of exam from the following list:

Note:
- Section II related to domain specific subjects and Section III related to General test will be bilingual i.e. in English and in one of the 13 languages chosen by the candidate. If there is any discrepancy, the English version will prevail except for “Language” Tests (Section 1A & 1B)
- Language test is different from the medium of the examination. Language test tries to evaluate the proficiency/skills of the candidate in the Language chosen by him/her. The Question Paper of the “Language” Test will not be bilingual.

Admit Card for CUET (UG) 2022
Candidates can visit the official website of CUET (cuet.samarth.ac.in) to download the e-admit card. Candidates who have completed the online application form, paid the prescribed application fee and fulfil the eligibility criteria as given in the official notification will be able to download the admit card.
Points to Remember:
- Candidate’s name, photograph, signature, roll number, exam centre, date, timing and shift of the exam will be given in the e-admit card. Candidates should check the e-admit card after downloading it, and if they find any discrepancy in the e-admit card, they should approach the NTA using the helpline number.
- Candidates should read the instructions given in the e-admit card carefully and strictly follow them during the examination.
Exam Centres for CUET (UG) 2022
CUET 2022 will be conducted at various exam centres within and outside India. While filling in the online application form candidates have to select any 4 cities of their choice. Candidates will be allotted exam centres in these cities in the order of their preference, however, due to administrative or logistic reasons, a different city can also be allotted. The decision of the NTA regarding the allotment of the City/Centre will be final. The list of exam centres outside India is given below:

Overview of the CUET (PG) 2022
Common University Entrance Test (CUET) aims to simplify the process of getting into PG programmes in Central and Participating Universities. The CUET (PG) exam was conducted for 42 Central and participating universities in 2022 at various exam centres throughout the country for the academic year 2022-23. The exam was conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. CUET PG Notification
The CUET-PG exam notification for the 2022-23 academic year was published on 19 May, 2022 on nta.ac.in. The CUET-PG exam was conducted for the first time in the country from September 1, 2022 to September 7, 2022 and September 9, 2022 to September 12, 2022.
The CUET-PG 2023 exam dates are yet to be released. Candidates can visit the official website (cuet.nta.nic.in) to get updates on the upcoming CUET-PG examination.

Eligibility Criteria for the CUET (PG) 2022
Before applying for the exam, applicants should go through the eligibility criteria given in the information bulletin released by the NTA. More information on eligibility criteria is given below:
- There is no age limit for candidates who wish to apply for the CUET PG-2022, however candidates have to fulfil the age criteria laid down by the University to which they wish to apply.
- Applicants should have passed the Bachelor’s degree or equivalent examination to be eligible for CUET (PG)-2022.
- Seats are reserved for different categories as per the guidelines given in the CUET (PG)- 2022 notification released by the NTA. However, the reservation policy of the University to which a candidate applies is applicable. In order to get more information on the reservation policy, candidates should go through NTA’s information bulletin and visit the University’s website to which candidates wish to apply.

Exam Pattern for the CUET (PG) 2022
CUET (PG)-2022 exam will be conducted online. The duration of each exam is 120 minutes and these will be conducted in two shifts/slots i.e. Shift 1 and Shift 2. Points to Remember: Exam Pattern of CUET (PG)-2022
- Candidates can select only one paper in one slot.
- An applicant can apply for three (03) test papers by paying an application fee.
- An applicant can further apply for more than 3 test papers, candidates have to pay an additional fee (as applicable).
- The exam will be held in English and Hindi (Bilingual) except for language and Sahitya papers.
- Each question paper will have 100 Questions.
- Candidates have to choose either English or Hindi language for the General Paper.
- Each question will carry 4 marks.
- 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

CUET (PG)-2022 Syllabus
The syllabus of various papers for CUET (PG)-2022 will be updated on the website of CUET (PG)-2022. All information related to the CUET (PG) syllabus will be made available here as and when it is available on the official website.
CUET (PG) 2022 Online Application Form
In order to apply for the CUET (PG)-2022, candidates have to fill in the application form online. Applicants can follow the steps given below to apply for the exam:
- Candidates should visit the cuet.nta.nic.in website.
- Register on the page and save the system generated application number.
- Login again using the application number and password.
- Fill in all the required information to complete the application form like personal details, paper, exam centre, educational qualification etc. Candidates should select the exam centre/city carefully. Applicants can select any four cities of their choice as exam centres.
- Upload scanned images of the photograph and signature. The scanned images should be clearly visible.
- Pay the application fee online through net banking, debit card, credit card etc.
- After successful payment of the application fee, a confirmation page will be generated.
- Download and take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.
Points to Remember: CUET (PG)-2022 Application Process
- Candidates should verify the information provided in the online application form before submitting it. NTA will not entertain any change in the name of the candidate, contact details, category, PwBD status, educational qualification details, address details, date of birth, choice of exam cities etc. and these particulars will be treated as final.
- Any request for change in the online application form will not be entertained after the completion of the application process and closure of the correction window.
- Applicants should ensure that they have a valid email address and mobile number before applying for the exam.
- Aspirants should download and install the SANDES application from the Google Play Store as a secondary channel to receive notifications from the NTA.
- Candidates should regularly check NTA’s website to get recent updates about the CUET (PG)-2022 exam.

Points to Remember: Application Fee
- Candidates can apply for three Test Papers by paying the application fee given in the table above. They have to pay additional fees for more than 3 test papers.
- All candidates who select test centres outside India have to pay an application fee of Rs. 4000.
- Candidates should ensure that they successfully pay the application fee online, otherwise their online application form will not be considered. After successful payment of the application fee, a confirmation page will be generated by the system.
CUET (PG) 2022 Admit Card
The admit card will be available on NTA’s website.Candidates can easily download their admit cards using their application number and password. Applicants should keep the following points in mind before going for the exam:
- Candidates should take a printout of the self-declaration form (undertaking) and admit card available on NTA’s website.
- Carry a transparent ball point pen to the exam centre.
- Carry additional passport size photographs and photo ID proof to the examination centre.
- Candidates can also carry a transparent water bottle, hand sanitizer (50 ml-transparent bottle) etc to the examination hall.
- Candidates should not carry geometry or pencil box, handbag, mobile phone, calculator, slide rules, log tables, camera etc to the examination hall.
