Introduction

In the state of Himachal Pradesh, secondary education is organized and administered by  the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education. Nearly 8,000 schools are affiliated to this board and more than 1,600 exam centres are set up across the state. Every year, almost 5 lakh students appear for various exams ranging from class 10 to TET(Teacher Eligibility Test).

HPBOSE was established in 1969 and was initially headquartered in Shimla, later, it was moved to Dharamshala.
