India provided the largest volunteer army than among any other nation fighting in World War 2. The Indian Army during World War II was one of the largest Allied forces contingents which took part in the many campaigns in World War 2.
At the height of the second World War, more than 2.5 million Indian troops fought Axis forces all over the world.
