When did World War 2 start?

World War 2 began on September 1, 1939. It began as a result of Germany’s invasion of Poland. Since Poland’s sovereignty was guaranteed by Britain and France, they declared war on Germany to defend Poland.

The War would end on 2nd September 2nd 1945. Germany had surrendered in May of 1954 while Japan surrendered in August of the same year.
