Phytoplankton offers a broad spectrum of minerals that come from the sea – magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, iron and zinc.
In addition it also produces oxygen just like plants on the land. In other words it can be said that plants are not the only source of oxygen but phytoplanktons also produce as much oxygen, if not more, than plants.
