DBT stands for Direct Benefit Transfer and DBTL stands for Direct Benefit Transfer for LPG. Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) was launched by the Government of India in January, 2013. DBT and DBTL help in removing corruption as the benefits or subsidies are directly transferred to the bank accounts of beneficiaries of various Government schemes. DBT was initially launched in a phased manner for 26 Central Government Schemes in 43 districts. DBTL was launched in June 2013. Modified DBTL was launched in 2014.
