The Global Methane Pledge is a US-EU led effort to cut methane emissions by a third by the end of this decade.
The Global Methane Pledge was announced before the 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Glasgow, UK.
Reduction of methane emissions is the key to reduce global warming. It is nearly 80-85 times more potent than carbon dioxide in terms of its global warming capacity.
