The Nirankari movement was a social reform movement for Sikhism. It was founded by Baba Dyal Das in 1851. The aim of the movement was to restore the practices and beliefs of Sikhs that were prevalent during the time of Guru Nanak.
The Nirankari movement emerged in the aftermath of the end of Sikh Empire and the reign of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
