Which state is called the sugar bowl of India?

Uttar Pradesh state is called the sugar bowl of India. It ranks the highest position in the production of the sugar cane crop. The state has a large number of sugar mills in major cities like Bareilly, Meerut, Saharanpur, Sitapur, Buland Shahar.
