ICSE Schools to Have Uniform Cut-off Marks

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination has decided to set a uniform cut-off percentage for the students of class 9 and class 11. The cut-off percentage for class 9 and class 11 is set to 33% and 35% respectively.

Many schools, under the ICSE, had all the privilege to set the cut-off percentage till now. This freedom was said to be exploited by some ICSE affiliated schools by setting the cut-off as high as 40% while, on the other hand, the schools under CBSE had only 33% cut-off set. The new rule of uniform cut-off percentage will do away with this practice. At the same time, the ICSE notification also declared that no grace marks would be awarded to the class 9th and class 11th students studying in the ICSE. The announcement also stated that there would be no re-examination conducted for the students studying in these classes. 75% of attendance is also made mandatory for the students under the ICSE (ISC for class 11 and class12) to appear for the examination.
