The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has barred Class 10 and Class 12 board students from wearing digital watches and smart watches in the exam hall. Students can now wear only analog wrist watches while appearing in the exam.

The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations shortly known as CISCE does not let examinees use calculators for Class 10 (ICSE) exam but allows for Class 12 (ISC) exam. But in the 12th standard exam as well, there are many restrictions. Examinees can use calculators only of one particular make. CISCE now wants to prevent any chance of examinees taking advantage of digital gadgets and technology to cheat in the examination.

Till 2017, ISC and ICSE students could wear any kind of watch in the exam hall. But invigilators would confiscate any watch with a calculator if any student wore in the exam hall.
