JEE Main 2020 Important Instructions for COVID-19

JEE Main 2020 second session that was supposed to be conducted in the month of April has been postponed several times due to the ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic. Due to the lockdown imposed across several Indian states and restrictions on travel the exam date was first shifted to July from April and now it has been scheduled to take place from 1st – 6th September.Ā 

However, this time the exam will be held but with some new guidelines. NTA has already released the JEE Main 2020 admit card. The exam authority has also released COVID-19 related guidelines for JEE Main 2020 which candidates have to follow.Ā These precautionary measures have been introduced keeping in mind the safety of the students.

Candidates are advised to go through theseĀ JEE Main 2020 important instructions for COVID-19 to avoid any confusion that may arise during the exam day.

Covid-19 Guidelines for JEE Main 2020

  • Candidates should reach the exam centre well before the given time.
  • Candidates should not gather at the gate of the exam centres.
  • Parents are requested not to come along or wait for their children outside the exam centre.
  • Aarogya Setu app should be installed on the candidate’s mobile phone.
  • It is crucial for candidates to carry their own hand sanitizers, transparent water bottle and food. Mask should also be carried at all times.
  • After each shift of the JEE Main, everything will be sanitized on a regular basis by the authorities.
  • As per details given in the JEE Main 2020 admit card, each candidate will be given 5 blank papers for rough work.Ā  Candidates should write their name and roll number in the paper and drop it in a dropbox after the exam.
  • Sanitizers will be kept at the entry of the exam centres.
  • Additionally, new 3 ply masks will be provided.
  • Candidates will have to go through thermal screening before entry.
  • Barricades to be put in different areas.
  • Social distancing norms should be followed and the gap between the seats will be as per GOI guidelines.
  • Candidates should not carry or bring any electronic devices to the examination hall.
  • Candidates should follow the dress code for JEE Main. Garments with large buttons and footwear with thick soles will not be allowed.
