Kerala Engineering, Architecture and Medical Admission Exam, or KEAM for short, is a state-level entrance examination administered by the Commission of Entrance Examination (CEE). This is for students seeking admission to Architecture and Engineering programmes offered by various government and private colleges in Kerala. KEAM is one of the most important state-level entrance exams and will be held in two shifts. The examination takes place once a year.

KEAM 2023 Eligibility Criteria
Before applying for the KEAM exams, aspiring candidates should know and understand the eligibility criteria for taking the KEAM entrance examination. The KEAM eligibility requirements typically specify fundamental information like the minimum age, nationality, and educational qualification.
Age and Nationality
Applicants may apply for the exam if they are at least 17 years old. While there is no upper age limit to apply for the KEAM 2023 examination, there is no reduction in the minimum age requirement.
For KEAM 2023, all the citizens of India are eligible to apply. Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) Card Holders are also eligible for the exam and admission to the different institutes. Candidates belonging to such categories will not receive any relaxation.
Educational Qualifications
Students must have completed the Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) of Kerala or an equivalent Class 12 exam with science subjects. Students can review the qualifying requirements for each course below:
- Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) of Kerala or a comparable exam with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory curriculum, and Chemistry as an elective (it can be substituted by Computer Science or Biotechnology or Biology as per the situation and requirement). Candidates must receive a minimum of 45% of marks.
- Candidates who fall under the SC, ST, SEBC, or PWD categories will receive a 5% mark relaxation.

Application Form KEAM 2023
Typically, CEE Kerala releases the dates for KEAM applications. The KEAM 2023 application has to be filled online. Candidates can enroll themselves on the official website. While filling the admission form, candidates are required to enter their name, email address, date of birth, and mobile number. The application fee shall be paid through online or offline modes.
After payment of the application fee, candidates will have to upload a scanned image of their photograph, signature and supporting documents.

KEAM Exam Pattern 2023
KEAM 2023 is an offline exam which includes two papers, each of which is held on a different timeline.
- Paper 1 typically has 120 questions from the fields of physics and chemistry. Engineering students, architectural aspirants, and students studying pharmacy must take this section.
- There are 120 questions to be answered in 150 minutes in Paper 2 that are framed from the subject of mathematics. This paper should be taken by aspiring engineering and architecture students.
KEAM Syllabus 2023
The KEAM syllabus covers Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry subjects equivalent to that of the 10+2 level. The CEE determines the KEAM syllabus. It is not, however, solely based on NCERT or any other textbook. The detailed syllabus of KEAM 2023 will be released in the official KEAM brochure. Knowing the syllabus before starting the preparation helps students to focus on the topics effectively. The KEAM 2023 syllabus also helps the candidates to understand the weightage allotted to each chapter of the subject. By analysing the KEAM syllabus, students can manage their time better and prepare well for the exam.

KEAM Admit Card 2023
Students can download the KEAM 2023 admit card from the official website when it becomes available. The applicant’s name, roll number, exam center, and timings are among the details on the hall ticket. Instructions for the exam day will also be included in it. The KEAM admission card is an important document to be carried out for the exam. It is one of the mandatory documents for admission and counselling as well.
KEAM Question Papers

KEAM Answer Key
After the exam, answer keys will be released on the official website. Candidates can obtain the PDF of the answer keys from the official website and compare their answers with the answer key. They can also estimate their performance or score.
If a candidate is unhappy with the solution, they may also contest the KEAM answer key 2023. Each answer that candidates want to contest will cost them INR 100.
Results KEAM 2023
KEAM 2023 results will be released on the official website after the examination. Candidates should provide the application number, password, and access code to view the results or scorecard.
The KEAM rank list will also be announced along with or after the results. Most of the time, the marks earned in Papers 1 and 2 are given equal weight while creating the rank list. The scores are combined for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Computer Science/Biology.
KEAM Cutoff 2023
The official website will publish the KEAM 2023 cutoff. The opening and closing rankings of the participating universities accepting KEAM scores often make up the cutoff. Only those candidates who qualify for the cutoff rank will be permitted to participate in the counselling session.
KEAM Counselling
Only applicants who qualify for the cutoff rank are eligible to attend the KEAM counselling session. The candidates’ credentials and documents will be checked during the KEAM counselling procedure. Candidates will then be assigned seats based on their preferences.
KEAM 2023 Seat Allotment
The Centralized Admission Process (CAP) is the major KEAM 2023 seat allocation method. Seat allotment takes place based on the entrance exam result. The seat allocation process will be open for candidates whose names are published on the merit list. As soon as the seats are filled, CEE Kerala will provide lists of those who have been assigned seats.
Documents Needed
Students must carry their admit card and the relevant original identity proof to the examination center. Without a valid KEAM admit card, students are not permitted to enter the hall.
Original ID proof like the Aadhaar card, voter ID card, PAN card, and passport can be taken.
Note: Log tables, calculators, slide rules, mobile phones, electronic watches, and tablets are not allowed.
