Solution:

Given dataset values: 45, 39, 55, 63, 49, 92, 79.

Now, arrange the given dataset in ascending order.

I.e., 39, 45, 49, 55, 63, 79, 92.

Here,

Highest data value = 92

Lowest data value = 39.

Therefore, Range = Highest data value – Lowest data value

Range = 92 – 39

Range = 53.

Therefore, the range of the given data is 53.

2. Find the range of the first 10 natural numbers.

Solution:

The first 10 natural numbers are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.

Here, the highest data value is 10 and the lowest data value is 1.

Thus, range = Highest data value – Lowest data value
