MHT CET 2018 (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test)

MHT CET 2018 or Maharashtra Common Entrance Test is a state level examination conducted by the Government of Maharashtra (Directorate of Technical Education) for facilitating admissions in various full-time degree courses of engineering, Pharm.D, pharmacy, and agricultural. The students are granted admissions in these courses offered by different colleges and institutes present in the state of Maharashtra. MH CET 2018 exam will be conducted in pen and paper mode on 10th of May 2018. MHT CET admit card 2018 will be made available on the official website from 24th of April to 10th of May 2018. The students are advised to download and keep the admit card safe until the counseling and admission procedures are not over. Every year around 4.5 lakh students appear for this examination, therefore, to ensure the successful completion of the examination, it is important for students to understand the examination pattern and prepare a proper preparation strategy.

MH CET 2018 application fee for general category candidates is Rs. 800 and for reserved category candidates the application fee is Rs.600. The application fee can be paid online through Internet Banking, Debit Card (Visa/RuPay/Maestro/MasterCard), Credit Card, Cash Cards, IMPS, etc.

MHT CET Eligibility Criteria 2018

Given below is the detailed information on MH CET eligibility criteria for Engineering, Pharm.D and Pharmacy courses:

  1. Students who have passed HSC or class 12 board class examination or any other equivalent examination can apply for this examination (Indian Nationals Only).
  1. There is no age criteria for appearing in MHT CET Common Entrance Test.
  1. The students appearing for HSC or class 12th board examination in the year 2018 are also eligible for appearing in this examination.

MHT CET Exam Pattern

MH CET 2018 exam will consist of three question papers of Multiple choice questions (MCQ). Each Paper will have a time duration of 90 minutes and the examination will be conducted in offline mode. The question paper will be in English, Marathi, Urdu languages for Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. The maths paper (Paper 1) will be in English only.

  1. For Engineering Courses: Paper 1 and Paper 2
  2. For Pharm/D or Pharmacy courses: Paper 2 and Paper 1/ Paper 3  (any or both)

Each paper will be of 100 marks. There will be no negative marking, however, the difficulty level of questions will be comparatively similar to that of JEE Mains and NEET.

MH CET Syllabus 2018

MH CET syllabus is designed by the Directorate of Technical Education based on the class 11th and 12th physics, chemistry, biology, and maths syllabus prescribed by the state board of Maharashtra. In MHT CET syllabus around 20% of weightage is given to the class 11th topics and rest 80% of weightage is given to the class 12th topics. MH CET Cutoff

MHT CET cutoff is published by DTE (Directorate of Technical Education) for each Centralised Allotment Process rounds. The category wise and institute wise MH CET cutoff will be released separately for both Maharashtra and All India candidates. The candidates who will clear the prescribed MHT CET cut off marks 2018 will be allowed to sit in the counseling session for seat allotment. The factors that will be considered while determining the MH CET Cutoff marks 2018 are:

  1. The total students appeared in MHT CET 2018.
  2. The difficulty level of question paper.
  3. Seat availability in different courses.
  4. Previous year MH CET cutoff trends.

MHT CET Counselling 2018

After the announcement of MH CET results, the students will be called for the counseling procedure. The counseling will begin from the 2nd week of June 2018. The Documents Required for successful completion of MHT CET Counselling 2018:

  1. Class 10 Marksheet and Passing Certificate
  2. HSC or Class 12 Marksheet and Passing Certificate
  3. MH CET 2018 Admit Card and Score card.
  4. Domicile and Category Certificate.
  5. Medical Fitness Certificate
