Nagaland declares Classes 10 and 12 Board Exam Results

NBSE (Nagaland Board of School Education) has officially announced the results for the High School Leaving Certificate-HSLC (Class 10) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate-HSSLC (Class 12) Exams. NBSE held these exams between 13 February 2020 and 4 March 2020.

The pass percentage for Class 10 (HSLC) was 70.03%. Some 22,392 students had registered for the exam, while 15,580 students out of it passed it. In 2019, the pass percentage was slightly down, at 68.29%.

The topper of the HSLC exam is Abhi Chakraborty of Holy Cross HSS, Dimapur with 98.33%, while Imlibenla Jamir of Fernwood School, Kohima with 96.67% stood second. Meanwhile, Palak Baid of Don Bosco HSS, Dimapur was third with 97.17% pass marks.

Girls lead with 8,470 girls qualifying, while only 7,210 passed the NBSE Class 10 exam. Even in the top 20 list made up of 55 students, 39 are girls while only 16 are boys. Nearly 96 schools (including 83 private schools and 13 government schools) secured 100% pass results in the Class 10 examination.

There were a total of 15,461 students in Arts, Commerce and Science stream to write the Nagaland Board HSSLC (Class 12) exam. Pass percentage in Arts Stream is at 71.87% as 8,335 out of the 11,598 students have qualified the exam. The topper of the stream is Chumliba R of Loyola HSS, Kiphire with 92% marks.

Meanwhile, the Commerce Stream saw 1337 candidates registering for the exams and 1009 passing it, the pass percentage in the stream is 75.47%. Ichha Upadhyay of Christian HSS, Dimapur topped in Commerce Stream with 98.80% marks.

Finally, in the Science stream, 2,525 students appeared for the exam of which 2045 passed. The pass percentage was 80.99% and Anushka Bhattacharjee of Pranab Vidyapith HSS, Dimapur with 95.20% marks was the topper in the Science stream.
