National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) is one of the toughest entrance exams in India for candidates who aspire to join MBBS, BDS and other undergraduate courses in the elite medical colleges across the country. Following the orders of the Honorable Supreme Court, almost all entrance exams for getting admissions into medical courses such as All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) have been dissolved and admissions to almost all government and private medical institutions will be done solely on the basis of NEET scores. The main aim of conducting NEET is to streamline the process of admissions into all medical courses.
NEET provides better opportunities for admissions in the medical courses to the candidates as compared to AIPMT. Earlier only 2000-2500 seats were available for admissions through AIPMT but with NEET, students have access to more seats as it is the sole examination conducted in the country for a career in the medical field. The NEET syllabus remains the same as it was for AIPMT so the prime focus of the candidates must be in covering the NCERT syllabus.
