The week that passed, has seen major announcements when it comes to academics, be it the academic calendar, reduction of syllabus, exams, or result declaration. The biggest and the most awaited of them all, has to be news on NEET, the medical entrance test for medical aspirants.
NEET 2020 has been postponed to September 13th, 2020. Previously, the exam was scheduled to be held on 3rd May and later postponed to 26th July 2020, both of which stand cancelled as of today, in view of the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In its official notice released on 3rd July 2020, NTA declared that the exam is rescheduled to take place on 13th September 2020, Sunday from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm in view of the present situation.
Furthermore, the notice also stated that the registered candidates could make changes to the particulars and choice of center cities in the online NEET Application form 2020. On-demand of students regarding corrections, the portal has been re-opened for changes to the candidate particulars in the online NEET application form which include the choice of exam center. Corrections (if any) shall be accepted to the online application form for NEET from 4th July 2020 till 15th July 2020 only, up till 5:00 pm and fee-submission would be accepted up till 11:50 pm. Candidates can visit the official website for NEET (neet.nta.nic.in), to make the necessary changes.
Additionally, information on NEET 2020 admit cards was also provided. The dates to download the NEET admit card, specifying the candidate’s roll number and center of the examination will be indicated/displayed on the official website for NEET, 15 days prior to the date on which exam would be conducted.
NTA will make all the necessary efforts in order to allot exam city to candidates as per their order of choice which is subject to availability of capacity in the city hence opted. A different city can be allotted citing administrative reasons as the decision with regards to Centre city, taken by the NTA will be final.
Any case of additional payment in accordance with changes made in the application form shall be indicated in the final update once the payment is made. The mode of payment of the additional fee (if applicable) can be done through Debit/Credit card/Net Banking/PAYTM and UPI.
Candidates are solicited to approach the correction(s) watchfully as a further opportunity for any correction shall not be provided. It is suggested to visit the official website for NEET regularly for the latest updates.
