Common University Entrance Test - undergraduate (CUET-UG) 2022 has become the second biggest entrance exam in India with registrations of more than 11 lakh students, out of which 9 lakh have submitted the application form with payment. The deadline for filing the application was 22 May 2022, Sunday.
The first position is secured by NEET-UG for which approximately 16 lakh students have registered. 87 universities and their affiliated colleges are aboard for the CUET-UG 2022-2023 academic session. This is the first edition of CUET-UG.
JEE Mains has been surpassed by CUET in the list of highest number of students who have registered for a particular entrance examination. With more than 8.6 lakh registrations, JEE Mains used to be on the second place, but now has been dethroned to third place. Around 44% female students have applied for CUET. 47% students from general category have applied for the exam. There has been a total of 9,13,540 registrations for CUET 2022.
Majority of the students who have registered for the exam belong to the rural areas as CUET 2022 opens the path for students by removing the burden of scoring 100%. Tentatively the date of the exam has been scheduled for the month of July, but there is a possibility that the exam may be conducted in the first or second week of July or pushed to the first week of August owing to postponement of JEE Mains and NEET 2022.
