National Council For Teacher Education

In order to make the application process for the National Council For Teacher Education also known as NCTE’s new four year programme, Integrated Teacher Education Programmes (ITEP) simple, NCTE launched an online portal on its official website on Sunday, 29 May 2022. The new addition to the website will make the procedure of recognition of teacher education programs for higher education simple.

The aim of the portal is to make the process simple so that it can help from the very first stage of inviting application for courses till the last stage i.e recognizing orders which also includes the inspection of institutions.‘Admin Login’ feature on the website will be used to process the applications for ITEP by NCTE.

Communications from Higher Education Institution/ Teacher Education Institution regarding the deficiencies/ Specification Change Notice will have to be sent on the ITEP online portal. Stakeholders will have no access to the Visiting Team portal which is available on the website.

The new four year integrated programme is accessible to all the students who want to make a career in teaching after secondary. The program will save one year of students by doing this course because they don’t have to study according to the five year BEd plan, rather complete the course in just 4 years.

NCTE has reduced the syllabus for this course according to the National Education Policy, so that students as well as teachers can get a degree and also get specialisation in a subject of their choice.
