The NMAT is an important management entrance test taken by the candidates who aspire to get admission into the top B-Schools in India. The NMAT by GMAC, currently in its ninth year, is a candidate-friendly exam that allows applicants to choose the day, time, and location of the exam, as well as the order of the sections. The NMAT exam paper pattern consists of the following: Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, Logical Reasoning. Owing to the adaptive nature of the exam, candidates will not be able to re-examine or modify their answers to earlier questions. Test takers will be able to attempt one question at a time, based on their past responses.

NMAT Exam Mode
NMAT is a Computerised Adaptive Test (CAT) that provides each applicant with a personalised assessment test. Candidates can review their scorecards immediately after the exam. GMAC facilitated students with additional options and ease of access as a result of the pandemic, including test centre alternatives with social distancing protocols and the ability to take the online proctored examination from the comfort of their own homes. Candidates get two chances to retake the exam in order to improve their score and download it within 48 hours.
Changes in the NMAT Exam Pattern
The exam pattern was revised in 2020, with 36 questions in each section and equal weighting throughout the Logical Reasoning, Language and Quantitative sections. The overall number of questions was reduced by 10%. Many flexible features were implemented exclusively for students in the NMAT Exam 2020, such as a longer testing window, equal weightage for all sections, and nil negative marking. The number of questions was cut from 120 to 108, with the exam duration remaining the same at 120 minutes. Apart from India, the NMAT exam is now offered in other countries: South Africa, Nigeria, The Philippines, and Morocco.
