International Assessments for Indian Schools Science exam is a diagnostic assessment conducted for students to develop in-depth knowledge and understanding of science concepts and general knowledge. About IAIS
International Assessments for Indian Schools (IAIS) is a renowned international student assessment programme that delivers an objective, in-depth, external assessment of student skills in key learning areas that are critical to their professional development. In India, the International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) programme is known as the International Assessments for Indian Schools (IAIS). Macmillan Education and EEA have combined together to conduct this assessment test. IAIS is a diagnostic assessment that identifies a student’s strengths and weaknesses in the four main subject areas of English, Science, Mathematics, and Computer Skills. It is not a competitive exam. This diagnostic assessment is benchmarked against global standards of evaluation.
IAIS Science Eligibility Criteria
Every Olympiad exam has some eligibility standards based on its rules and regulations. Listed below are the eligibility criteria for the IAIS Science test.
- Only students who belong to participating schools can take part in the Science exam.
- Individual participation is not allowed in the IAIS examination.
- The candidate must be from a participating school that should be affiliated with either ICSE, CBSE, or State Board.
- The candidate should be a student of Classes 3 to 12.
IAIS Registration Process
The registration process for the IAIS Science examination is similar to that of other exams. One can fill out the form from the official Macmillan website. Individual participation is not permitted or encouraged by ICAS/IAIS, and students must take the exam through their schools. The steps to register for the IAIS Mathematics exam are outlined below.
For Educational Institutions
- Check out the official website.
- One can find contact information for the ICAS or IAIS assessment on the Macmillan website.
- The school authority must contact them and ask for the school enrollment and student registration forms.
- One must duly fill out the school enrollment form completely, including the school name, address, and contact information.
- Schools must ensure that students are provided with a student registration form on which they can fill out the information, such as their name, class, exams, and contact information.
- After the form is filled, the schools can collect completed registration forms and collect the payments from all students, depending on the number of exams the student is taking.
- Scan the obtained documents and email Macmillan soft copies of the school and student registration forms.

For Individuals
ICAS / IAIS does not allow or encourage individual participation and requires students to take the exam through their school (if their school is registered).

Registration or Examination Fees
Exam fees will be collected by each school in the amount determined by the conducting authority. When Macmillan sends a representative to the school, coordinators can collect payments based on the number of tests each student is taking and then pay the total amount when Macmillan sends a representative to the school. The fee is non-refundable, which means it cannot be refunded or moved once it has been paid.
Syllabus
The exam’s syllabus is largely based on major academic boards, like CBSE, ICSE, and several state boards. Students in grades 3 to 12 are eligible to participate in the competition. - Analysing data: Understanding graphically depicted data, such as diagrams (with elements labelled) and tables and graphs (bar, line, pie, etc.).

- Higher-order skills are divided into two categories: Reasoning and problem-solving.

The IAIS Science test has two types of questions. They are described below.

- The Assessments consist of a range of multiple-choice and free-response questions.
- For the multiple-choice questions, students will have to choose the correct answer from the four possible options.
- For the free-response questions, students will have to write the answers in the boxes provided.
- Each question is worth one mark.
- The total score is given by the number of correct answers.
- No marks are deducted for wrong answers.
- Papers are ordered from the easiest items to the most difficult items.
- The items towards the end of the paper are designed to provide an opportunity for the most able students to demonstrate a high level of skill.
- The questions are carefully graded to cater to a wide range of student abilities using contexts that stimulate students’ interest and engage their attention. Students at all levels of competency stand to benefit from participation in the diagnostic assessments.

IAIS Admit Card
Students receive the admit cards for the IAIS Science Exam from Macmillan Education India through their schools. Admit cards are issued in the names of pupils after the school has finished the registration process and paid the registration costs to Macmillan Education.
Within three weeks of completing the registration process, admit cards/hall tickets will be sent to the institutions/schools. The registration process must be completed far ahead of the exam date.

The IAIS admit card contains the following information.
- Student’s name
- Class and section of the student
- School name
- Registration number/Roll number
- Exam date and time
- Name of the exam
- School and city
Note
After receiving their admit cards from the school authority, students must inspect them for any discrepancies. Students are asked to contact their school coordinator and request that the error be corrected or that a new admit card be issued if there is an error or the student loses their admit card. Students must bring a hard copy of their IAIS Science admit card, as well as their school ID card, to the examination hall for verification. Students who do not have an admit card will not be able to take the exam.
IAIS Science Admit Card Instructions
Students should follow the following instructions after receiving their International Assessment for Indian Schools admit card:
- Students must arrive 30 minutes before their scheduled exams at their allocated exam centres.
- Students are allowed to enter the exam hall 15 minutes prior to the start of the exam to complete the basic information on OMR sheets.
- Students will not be allowed inside the exam room until 10 minutes after the exam has started.
- There will be no additional time allowed for students to complete the exam.
- Only when the student’s exam is completed may they exit the exam centre.

IAIS Science Result
The IAIS Science result dates will be updated on the Macmillan Education official website. The procedures for verifying the results are outlined below.

- Fill up the required information. The school must input the 8-digit school code and password to access online reporting.
- Candidates must input their 10-digit TAP-ID and PIN during student registration to view online reports.
- Contact the local Macmillan office or the ICAS helpdesk for the school code and password, as well as the TAP-ID and PIN.
- Before downloading the report, one must first log in to ICAS.
The result is given in two reports
The results of IAIS are provided in the form of a diagnostic report. Macmillan will provide two kinds of reports:
