The Olympiads are held on a national and worldwide basis, and they encourage students from similar academic disciplines or levels to compete. Olympiads, whether on a national or an international scale, is widely regarded as one of the most difficult exams to pass. The coveted tests help students develop a competitive mindset, while also allowing them to evaluate their knowledge and awareness of a subject topic to that of their competitors.
Participation in the Olympiad Exams will help them improve their academic performance, and compare their knowledge level and exam readiness to that of other students throughout the country. IMO – International Maths Olympiad
The Science Olympiad Foundation hosts the International Mathematics Olympiad, a mathematics competition. The SOF IMO is a test that assesses students’ mathematical understanding and potential. Students who participate in the IMO can evaluate their own and their peers’ grasp of the subject, and their ability to solve a variety of sums on a school, local, zonal, and international level. The International Maths Olympiad helps students to self-assess themselves, and also offers several of rewards and scholarships to high scorers.
IEO – International English Olympiad
The International English Olympiad is a competition for students from all around the world, who have passed an international English language test. This tournament will challenge students with local, national, and international competitions throughout the year. Participants will be required to generate things of interest or exhibitions of concepts linked to linguistics themes, such as grammar and pronunciation for IEO.
NSO – National Science Olympiad
The National Science Olympiad (NSO) is a science competition for students in grades 1 to 12. The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) organises NSO with the goal of identifying and nurturing future scientists, technologists, and information technology talent in secondary schools.
IGKO – International General Knowledge Olympiad
The International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO) is held every year by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF). This exam measures students’ overall general knowledge as well as their current-events awareness. Despite the fact that the SOF IGKO is a single-level exam, the results are announced at four different levels: school, city, zonal, and global. Students can win great incentives, based on their accomplishments at various levels.
NCO – National Cyber Olympiad
The National Cyber Olympiad is an annual cyber competition in India that is open to people of all ages. It gives a space for students from many disciplines to learn and explore their skills in order to boost their education. The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur’s Department of Computer Science is hosting the cyber games. It has been successfully held three times thus far, in 2009, 2011 and 2016. Every year on the 12th of December, the competition is accessible to all students in India, regardless of category or gender, on a merit basis (the National Cyber Games Day). The NCO is to be held across all states and union territories, according to its mandate.
ICO – International Commerce Olympiad
The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India jointly sponsor the International Commerce Olympiad (ICO), a single-level test. In the year 2016, SOF established the ICO examination. ICO is reserved for students in the upper grades, i.e., grades 11 and 12. The SOF administers the ICO tests in the individual schools where the participants have enrolled.
PRMO – Pre-Regional Mathematical Olympiad
The Indian Mathematical Olympiad begins with the Pre-RMO, or PRMO. The Pre-Regional Mathematical Olympiad is the full name of the competition. It’s a preliminary round for determining who will compete in the Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO). The National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM) has named the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) as the exam’s coordinator. RMO – Regional Mathematical Olympiad
The second stage of the International Mathematical Olympiad is the Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO). RMO is overseen by the Homi Bhabha Centre For Science Education (HBCSE) in Mumbai and is carried out by regional coordinators. INMO – Indian National Mathematical Olympiad
The Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO) is a maths competition held in India. The INMO is the HBCSE IMO’s third step. The Indian National Olympiad is a well-known annual mathematics competition for high school students held in India. The INMO exam is the second stage in the selection process for the Indian team for the International Mathematical Olympiad. Every year, the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) administers the INMO exam.
IQAA – International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics
The IOAA’s main goal is to promote increasing interest in astronomy and associated subjects, particularly among young people, as well as to improve worldwide cooperation in promoting astronomy and astrophysics in schools. As a result of activities like IOAA, a higher number of brilliant high school students are expected to be interested in studying astronomy at the university level, as the next generation of astronomers.
IAO – International Astronomy Olympiad
The International Astronomy Olympiad is a scientific-educational event that incorporates an intellectual competition for students in junior high school classes, ages 14 to 18. The focus is to promote creativity, resourcefulness, and independent thinking. The IAO exam is held in a spirit of peace and tolerance, with the competition serving as a trigger for participants to demonstrate their abilities; nonetheless, interactions, exchange of ideas, and cooperation among students, instructors, and scientists from different countries take precedence.
IBO – International Biology Olympiad
The International Biology Olympiad is the world’s most prestigious biology competition, held every year in July, for secondary school students. Each participating country sends four National Biology Olympiad champions to the IBO test, who are usually accompanied by two leaders who serve on the International jury for the length of the competition.
InChO – Indian National Chemistry Olympiad
InChO is an annual competition for high school students that allows them to demonstrate their skills in their favourite subject, Chemistry. The yearly competition of InChO is organised by the Homi Bhabha Centre in collaboration with the Indian Association of Chemistry Teachers every year.
INAO – Indian National Astronomy Olympiad
The Indian National Astronomy Olympiad, which is organised by HBCSE, begins with a national test held in over 1400 schools across the country, and concludes with international Olympiads held in various cities across the world. At the national level, conceptual knowledge, logical reasoning, laboratory abilities, and, most significantly, the ability to apply problem-solving skills to new situations, both theoretical and experimental, are all tested in the INAO exam.
InPho – Indian Association Of Physics Teachers
The Indian Association Of Physics Teachers (IAPT) hosts the Indian National Physics Olympiad (INPhO) once a year in June and July. InPhO is aimed for secondary school students who want to extend their understanding of Physics on a global scale.
INBO – Indian National Biology Olympiad
INBO (Indian National Biology Olympiad) is a competition for students in classes 11 and 12. It is a national level test and the second stage of the Homi Bhabha Centre For Science Education’s Biology Olympiad Program (HBCSE). INBO exam is held at over 15 locations across India, and it attracts a significant number of students each year.
NSTSE – National Level Science Talent Search Examination
The National Level Science Talent Search Examination, commonly known as NSTSE, is a skill test conducted by the Unified Council, a professionally managed progressive organisation, with an objective to identify and nurture the best brains of the country in the science discipline. NSEB – National Standard Examination in Biology
The NSEB test is part of the NSE (National Standard Examination), which organises national scientific Olympiads to promote students, and provide a platform for them to compete in international competitions. NSEJS – National Standard Examination In Junior Scientific
The National Standard Examination In Junior Scientific (NSEJS) is a science Olympiad, as the name indicates. In the year 1987, it was held for the first time. The test is one of the most difficult national scientific exams offered by the IAPT (Indian Association of Physics Teachers). The subjects included in the NSEJS exams are Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology.

NSEC – National Standard Examination in Chemistry
The NSEC Examination is jointly conducted by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education and the Indian Association of Physics Teachers. This test is held every year in November, and numerous examination centres are designated for its administration. The National Science Education Center promotes chemistry as an important subject and fosters interest in it. The NSEC displays students’ achievements, depending on their examination results.
NSEP – National Standard Examination in Physics
The National Standard Examination in Physics (NSEP) has been held in India since 1987. The Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) administers a voluntary test that assists in the selection of applicants for the International Olympiad of Science. The NSEP is conducted on a regional level by all of the states that have participated in it, as well as the UTs.
IOM – International Olympiad of Mathematics
The International Olympiad of Mathematics (IOM) is a competition that takes place every two years. The National and International Math Olympiad assessments examine students’ analytical reasoning ability in school-level mathematics. IOQJS – Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Junior Science
The full form of IOQJS is the Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Junior Science. It’s the first stage of the International Science Olympiad competition. It is a three-hour test consisting of two papers that are normally held in January. The Indian National Olympiad (INO) and the National Standard Examination (NSE) are combined in the IOQJS, which is conducted by the IAPT and HBCSE as a blend of two competitive examinations (NSE).
