Since the year 2000, the Scientific Community of India has held the National Standard Examination in Biology (NSEB), which is an Olympiad programme. This test attracts between 20000 and 60000 candidates each year. It is held in collaboration with the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) and the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE). The NSEB test is part of the NSE (National Standard Examination), which organises national scientific olympiads to promote students, and provide a platform for them to compete in international competitions.
