NSO Exam Registration 2022-23

The National Science Olympiad (NSO) is a school-level competitive exam held yearly by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF), in which students from grades 1 to 12 can compete. National Science Olympiad Registration

Exams for the National Science Olympiad are held on several days each year. The NSO registration period begins one month prior to the first set of exam dates. Students can apply for Science Olympiad tests either through their schools or as individuals under the supervision of their parents. Students must verify their eligibility requirements and other key registration facts before filling out the NSO online application form.

To apply for the SOF’s National Science Olympiad Exam, students should complete the processes outlined below.

  • The student must fill out the NSO registration form neatly and completely, and all of the information requested in the registration form must be supplied by the student.
  • The SOF has produced two sets of registration forms: a student registration form and a school registration form.
  • The school’s coordinating teacher will produce the students’ roll numbers in accordance with the organising authority’s rules.
  • On or before the deadline, school coordinators must provide a copy of the roll numbers to the Science Olympiad Foundation, together with the student’s registration sheet (SRS) and school registration form (SRF).
  • Question papers and procedures for administering the test will be sent to the individual schools when the applicant school, as well as the students, have been properly registered.

Application Fee

Schools in India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Nepal pay a registration fee of Rs. 125 (including GST) per student / Olympiad to the SOF to help cover the fee of the test. Schools may charge an extra Rs. 25 per student to cover the honorarium of the in-charge, instructor salary, and other expenditures.

Exemption of fees

The following students are not required to pay the NSO registration fees:

  • Students who have a physical handicap of any type
  • Students whose parent(s) were martyred during defence operations

Roll Numbers for NSO Exams

The coordinating teacher at the school is authorised to complete the School Registration Form (SRF) and the Students’ Registration Sheet (SRS) according to the rules supplied. Before the NSO exam’s registration deadline, a copy of this must be given to the SOF office. The organising authority will next register the applicant school as well as its students. Then, in accordance with the Students’ Registration Sheet, it will produce NSO exam roll numbers for all students (SRS).

The SOF NSO Olympiad Exam can be administered by any school that is recognised as a centre. Furthermore, the institution does not charge a fee to become a recognised examination centre.
