Propan -2-Ol is a colourless flammable liquid having a disinfectant property which is commonly used as an antiseptic. Propan-2-Ol is an isomer of 1-propanol. It is used in manufacturing medicines, window cleaners, dye solutions, perfumes, cosmetics, anti-freezes, lacquer formulations, and soaps. Propan-2-Ol are sold in 70% aqueous state as rubbing alcohol. Propan-2-Ol converts into viscous with decreasing temperature and freezes at −89 °C.
