Tamil Nadu State Board Cancels SSLC (Class 10) And Class 11 Exams

Tamil Nadu Board (TN Board) SSLC (Class 10) & Class 11 Exams have finally been cancelled post discussions, in view of the Covid-19 pandemic scare. “Health experts and epidemiologists said the Covid-19 spread will not come down in near future. Considering the rising cases and the demand from parents, Class 10 exams that were scheduled to start 15 June 2020 and the remaining Class 11 exams were cancelled to protect the children from the pandemic’, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami said in a statement. Earlier, the Madras High Court had asked the Tamil Nadu government to consider postponing the exam, in view of the increasing Covid-19 cases.

He added that the students will be given marks for the final exams as per the quarterly and half-yearly exams. “Students would get 80% weightage for half yearly and quarterly exam marks and 20% for attendance”, further added the Chief Minister. The TN Board SSLC (Class 10) will have 500 marks and Class 11 will have 600 marks.

Students can check for the official results online at the TN Board website, once it is released. For more details and updates about results, also check our TN Board Results page.
