Frequently Asked Questions on WBJEE 2023

Q1: I made a mistake while filling out the application form. How can I correct it?

Answer: The changes can be made when the correction window is open. However, it is not possible to make any changes to the candidate’s name, parent’s name, date of birth, gender and domicile.

Q2: What is a correction window?

Answer: It is the 3 days period after the closure of the online application when the candidate can correct any data or image on their application, except any primary data, like name, parent’s name, date of birth, gender and domicile.

Q3: I have not received the application number on my mobile number. What should I do?

Answer: The candidate must have a valid mobile number, and the network connection must be good so that the SMS is not missed. Further, you must contact the help desk for any queries on the same.

Q4: What should I do if I forget my password?

Answer: Click on the “Forgot Password” link so that the password can be changed.

Q5: What should I do if I forget the application number?

Answer: Click on the “Forgot Application Number” link so that the application number can be accessed.

Q6: What are the lower age limit and upper age limit?

Answer: The lower age limit is 17 years. There is no upper age limit. However, for degree-level Marine Engineering courses, the upper age limit is 25 years.

Q7: Can I change my choice of examination zone?

Answer: No, changing the examination zone will not be entertained.

Q8: I forgot to enter the pin code of the school I am studying. What should I do?

Answer: Candidates can correct it when the correction window is open. 

Q9: Why do I  get the message “Admin approval required” on the website?

Answer: In case the photograph or signature uploaded by the candidate is not as per the specified requirement, an SMS is sent to the registered phone number requesting the candidate to change the photo/signature. The revised image is approved by the Board, which needs about 3 days of time. If a candidate logs in during these 3 days, they will see an alert message – “Admin approval required”.

Q10: What happens if I do not upload a correct photograph or signature?

Answer: The admit card will not be issued.

Q11: Is the application fee refundable if I do not attempt the examination?

Answer: No, it is non-refundable.

Q12: What should I do if I don’t receive the confirmation page even if the fee is deducted from my bank account?

Answer: The confirmation page is generated once the payment is received by the Board. If you have not received the confirmation page, it must be due to payment failure. The candidate should make the payment again to receive the confirmation page. As per the rule, the failed payment will be credited to the account by the bank.

Q13: What should I carry to the examination hall?

Answer: The following documents should be carried to the examination hall:

  • The hard copy of the admit card.
  •  A copy of the colour photograph that was uploaded while filling out the application form.
  • Any photo ID proof in original (Aadhar card/passport/ voter ID/10 Std admit card/school ID card).

Q14: Where can I get the direction to reach the examination centre?

Answer: The address and landmark of the centre will be mentioned on the admit card.

Q15: How many seats are reserved for JEE Main candidates?

Answer: 10% of approved seats in private and self-financing engineering & technology colleges is reserved for JEE Main candidates.
