Circulatory system refers to the heart and a network of blood vessels that move blood, nutrients and oxygen throughout the body

The circulatory system consists of the heart, capillaries, arteries and veins. While arteries carry blood away from the heart, the veins (in most cases) carry blood back to the heart. The capillaries facilitate the exchange of oxygen and nutrients to the cells. The circulatory system helps tissues get sufficient oxygen, nutrients and helps in removing metabolic waste products as well.

The circulatory system in human beings consists of several circuits namely, pulmonary circuit, systemic circuit and the coronary circuit.  Blood flow between the heart and lungs is called the pulmonary circulation. Systemic circulation is where the blood flows to and from all the tissues of the body. The coronary circulation circulates blood flow to the heart.
