2. Why the CAT exam?
The exam is preferred for by all the IIMs and most of the top B schools in India like FMS, SP Jain, MDI, IMI, NITIE ,IMT, JBIMS, etc. Over two lakh students take this exam every year, where sixty candidates compete for a single seat. It tests a candidate’s ability to deal with data, numbers, logic-based problem statements. 3. How many CAT exams are conducted in a year?
The CAT exam is held only once every year. Typically, it is held in the month of November or December. IIM Kozhikode conducted the CAT 2019 on 24th November 2019. IIM Indore conducted the CAT 2020 during November 2020. The exam was conducted throughout the country in test centres across 140 cities. For 2021, the tentative exam date is the last week of November 2021.
4. How to apply for the CAT exam?
Students can apply online for the CAT exam through the official CAT website (www.iimcat.ac.in). Students need to register on the website and create a free account to provide all their details along with a digital passport size photograph to generate an admit card. 5. Who is Eligible for CAT:
The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PWD)/Differently Abled (DA) category) awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. 6. When is the CAT exam held?
CAT exam is conducted every year either in the month of November or December. The set of dates on which students can write the exam varies every year depending on the organization conducting the exam.
7. How many attempts can you give for the CAT exam?
Any individual is allowed to attempt the cat exam as many times they desire irrespective of their age, provided, he/she fulfils the CAT eligibility Criteria.
