The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently released its official notification of UGC NET 2017 second leg which would be conducted on 19th nd November. The window for applying for the NET exam online would be from 1st to 31st August 2017.
The National Eligibility Test (NET) is held to find the right candidates eligible for the posts of Assistant Professor or Junior Research Fellow or even the two together. The test would be having 84 subjects in total and would be held across the country at around 1000 centres and 90 cities listed by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
NET exam has been the responsibility of the CBSE from 2014 and the board had informed the UGC that it has been overburdened by this task. The Exam for June was not held this year.
The ones who claim the post of Junior Research Fellowship would be entitled to have fellowship under different spots provided in universities or top institutions like IITs. Similarly, the candidates clearing the NET exam for the post of Assistant professor would be posted in various colleges and universities.
To register for the NET exam candidates could visit the net exam site of CBSE. The exam fee for students for General, OBC and SC/ST would be Rs. 600, Rs. 300 and Rs. 150 respectively.
The UGC NET exam consists of three papers and to clear the exam the candidates have to clear all the papers. Both Paper-I and Paper- II have duration of 75 minutes whereas paper III would have duration of 150 minutes. The number of questions for both Paper I and Paper II would be around 60 to 50 and the candidates have to attempt at least 50 questions.
The mark weightage of both these papers would be 100 marks each. In the case of paper III the total marks would be 150 with number of questions being 75. For candidates from general category the minimum marks to qualify for Paper-I and Paper II would be 40 per cent and 50 per cent for paper III and for candidates of other categories should score 35 percent and 40 per cent respectively.
