The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a standardized test that is required for applying to universities and colleges around the world. The exam seeks to test the student’s ability in verbal, quantitative and analytical thinking. ETS GRE is a computer-based test and is available throughout the year.
GRE Exam Fee in India
ETS GRE test costs $205. In terms of Indian Rupees, the exam costs approximately Rs. 13330. This is calculated at an exchange rate of 1 USD = Rs. 65 approximately. Make sure you check the exchange rate at the time of paying the fee.
GRE Test Rescheduling Fee & Center Change Fee in India
Due to unforeseen circumstances, you may have to reschedule your exam. ETS charges $50 (Rs. 3250) to request for a change in the date of exam. A change in the test centre also costs you a similar sum of $50. So make sure you check your calendar and any other factors that may prevent you from giving the test on a particular day.
ETS also charges a late registration fee for paper-based test takers if they fail to pay the registration fee on time for the GRE exam. The fine for the same is $25 (Rs. 1625).
GRE- How to pay?
ETS accepts payments through either of the following modes available:
- Credit/Debit Card ( American Express®, Discover®, JCB®, MasterCard® or Visa®),
- Money Order
- And E-cheque service(Drawn against US accounts only).
Once you complete the registration and choose the test date and centre, you can go ahead and pay the GRE Fees.
GRE Refund Policy
The maximum eligible refund for the GRE fee is 50% of the total fee. In order to be eligible for a refund, the candidate has to cancel his/her registration no later than four days before the examination.
For payments made through Credit/Debit cards, the refund will be processed and credited back to the same Credit/Debit card or bank account.
For payments made through Paypal, the refund will be made to the same paypal account.
