Salary of a HP Police Constable 2021-2022

The post of HP Police Constable falls under the grade pay scale of Rs. 5910 – Rs. 20,200 + Rs. 1900 (Grade Pay). After 8 years of regular service, the pay scale will be Rs 10300-34800 + Rs 3200 Grade Pay.

Stages of HP Police Constable Exam 2023

The HP Police Constable exam is conducted in various stages. The marking scheme and the various stages of the exam are given in the table below.

  • This test is a screening test.
  • It carries 5 marks
2 Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  • This is a qualifying test.
3 Written Test
    • Candidates who clear the PET can appear for the written test.
    • It comprises multiple choice questions (MCQs)
    • It carries a total of 80 marks.
    • The duration of the written exam is 60 minutes.
    • Candidates need to score the following minimum qualifying marks to pass the examination
      • General/OBC: 50% Marks
      • SC/ST            :40% Marks
  • The exam contains 5 sections, namely:
    • Hindi Language
    • English Language
    • Mathematics and Science
    • Reasoning Aptitude
    • General Awareness
4 Document verification and award of marks for certificates
  • Candidates’ certificates and other relevant documents are checked at this stage. 
  • In addition, candidates are awarded marks based on various criteria, which includes educational qualifications, participation in NCC or NSS, international, national or state level sports, possession of LMV driving licence etc.
  •  It carries 15 marks.
5 Medical Examination
  • After completion of the document verification process, candidates have to go through a medical examination conducted by the Medical Board.
  • Results of the medical examination will be displayed on the notice boards of concerned District SP offices in the state.
6 Verification of character and antecedents
  • In this stage the verification of character and antecedents of provisionally selected candidates will be carried out by the concerned district police.
