Government Exam 2023

Exam Pattern for the KVS exam

The total number of marks for all 3 KVS exams is the same. Only the section-wise marking is different in the PRT exam. The total mark for each exam is 180, and it comprises 4 parts and an interview.

KVS Exam Preparation Tips & Tricks

Here are some important preparation tips for the Trained Graduate Teachers exam.

  1. Know the exam pattern & syllabus. Candidates should know the important topics to be focused, marking scheme and weightage for each section. This helps in planning a strategic preparation for the TGT exam.
  2. Prepare notes on important topics and study important concepts from notes. This will ensure a better understanding and retention of the topic studied. The short notes can help to strengthen the fundamental concepts of each topic in the best possible way.
  3. Practice basic Grammar rules and parts of speech in Hindi & English to score better in these subjects.
  4. Keep reading English newspapers/books/magazines daily to boost your general awareness on topics.
  5. Practise previous year questions thoroughly and check for frequently asked questions.
  6. Create a subject-wise and day wise study plan and follow the plan religiously to score well in the KVS exam.
  7. Analyse your strengths and weaknesses with regular tests and focus on the areas according to your ease during the preparation.
  8. Check for different ways to solve questions in Maths, and reasoning to solve with better pace and accuracy.
  9. For Computer Literacy, focus on strengthenthing the basic fundamentals of computer application.
  10. Review the previous year questions for difficulty level of topics and improve your preparation accordingly.
  11. Practice fundamental questions in Reasoning & then solve complex questions such as puzzles, inequalities, series, etc.
  12. Make brief GK notes on current and historical events, dates, and other famous happenings.
  13. Go through NCERT books on science and other important topics.
  14. Be sure of the attempted questions and try to solve maximum number of questions with accuracy.
  15. Time management is crucial. It’s best to avoid wasting too much time on lengthy questions. Aspirants must try to solve the easier ones first and then utlilise the remaining time on lengthy ones.
  16. Revision is one of the most underrated preparation tips. If you do not revise what you have studied, it’s difficult to score well. Therefore, candidates should revise important topics twice or thrice before the exam.
  17. General knowledge and current affairs section is crucial and game changing. Rgeulat newspaper reading and staying up to date on current events can help students score well in the exam. It needs daily practice with quizzes and tests to ace the section.

Do’s and Don’ts during the KVS exam preparation and during the exam

  • Do not be in a hurry while attempting a question
  • Do not rely on random guesswork. Solve the problem and then mark your choice.
  • Do not leave easy questions till the last. Solve the easy ones first and then attempt the difficult ones with the remaining time.
  • Read all the instructions carefully before attempting the questions.
  • Do attempt only those questions you are sure of.
  • Stay calm and composed during the exam, as confidence can help you ace the exam
  • Avoid referring to multiple sources of information for one topic. This can lead to confusion and loss of marks in the exam.
