Fly ash is a type of ash that is formed as a result of combustion. It is composed of the particulates that are driven out of coal-fired boilers together with the flue gases.
Fly ash is an environmental concern because the chemicals in the ash can escape and move through the environment, bringing with it a wide array of health problems that can be fatal to any one that breathes it.
