The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is a body of the United Nations that is tasked with improving the knowledge and understanding on human-induced climate change
The IPCC was established by the United Nations Environment Programme and the World Meteorological Organization. Later endorsed by the United Nations it has its headquarters in Switzerland.
The IPCC is a widely accepted authority on climate change whose work is well regarded by climate scientists as well as governments.
