Which Indian states are under AFSPA?

The Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 extends to the following regions:

  • Tirap, Changlang and Longding districts of Arunachal Pradesh and the area falling within the jurisdiction of four police stations
    in the districts of Arunachal Pradesh bordering the State of Assam.
  • The whole of the State of Nagaland.

These above regions are declared as “disturbed areas” under AFSPA by the Central Government.

  • The entire state of Assam.
  • The entire State of Manipur excluding the Imphal Municipal.

The above regions are declared as “disturbed areas” under AFSPA by the State Government.
