Madhya Pradesh has the most number of tiger reserves with six in total. It also has the largest number of tigers in the entire country at 526.
Other states with significant populations included Uttarakhand at 442, Karnataka at 524, Tamil Nadu at 229, Maharashtra at 190, Assam at 167, Kerala at 136 and Uttar Pradesh at 117.
