The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) was hosted in Dushanbe in Tajikistan on 16–17 September 2021. The SCO is primarily centered on security-related concerns, often describing the main threats it confronts as being terrorism, separatism and extremism.
It is the world’s largest regional organisation in geographic scope and population, covering three-fifths of the Eurasian continent, 40% of the world population, and more than 20% of global GDP.
