Who releases the data for the National Air Quality Index?

The data for the National Air Quality Index (NAQI) is replaced by the Central Pollution Control Board.

The National Air Quality Index was launched by 17 October 2014 in order to provide better information on air quality in an easy-to-understand format for the general public.

The measurement of air quality is based on eight pollutants, namely:

  •  Particulate Matter (size less than 10 µm)
  •  Particulate Matter (size less than 2.5 µm)
  •  Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2)
  •  Sulphur Dioxide (SO2)
  •  Carbon Monoxide (CO)
  •  Ozone (O3)
