What causes indoor air pollution?

Indoor air pollution refers to dust, gases and dirt inside the buildings that have a polluting effect on the indoor air quality.

Indoor air pollution is caused by:

  • Toxic products
  • Insufficient ventilation
  • High temperature and humidity

Other sources such as tobacco smoke, wood-burning stoves and construction materials such as asbestos also cause indoor air pollution.
