Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT)

What is BITSAT?

BITSAT stands for Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test. It is an online exam which is conducted for the students to take admission in the undergraduate Engineering courses (BE)  offered at its three campuses located at Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad.

BITSAT is conducted every year by BITS Pilani and after clearing the exam, students are given admission into B.E., B.Pharm and M.Sc. programmes.

BITSAT 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Students who wish to appear for the BITSAT 2022 have to fulfil the eligibility criteria mentioned below. 

For Admission to Any of the First Degree programmes of BITS  

  • Aspirants should have passed the class 12th examination from a recognised Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Candidates must have adequate proficiency in English.
  • Aspirants should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects.

For Admission to B.Pharm (Hons)  

  • Aspirants should have passed the class 12th examination from a recognised Central or State board or its equivalent with the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Candidates must have adequate proficiency in English. However, candidates with PCMB in class 12 can also apply for the Pharmacy programme at BITS campuses.
  • Aspirants should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (and Maths, if they are PCMB students) subjects with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (and Maths, if they are PCMB students) subjects.
  • Only students who are appearing for the 12th class examination in 2022 or have passed in 2021 are eligible to appear in the BITSAT 2022. Only two attempts are there for the student.
  • Students already studying in any of the BITS campuses are not eligible for the exam.
  • Admissions are done purely on a merit basis which is further based on the score a student gets in the examination. However, their eligibility for admission is subject to fulfilling the requirement of minimum marks in the 12th examination, as mentioned above. 

BITSAT 2022 Direct Admission to Board Toppers

Direct admission is given to the First rank students of all the central and state boards in India for the year 2022, irrespective of their BITSAT score and the choice of their branch is given to them. The toppers are not required to appear for BITSAT.

Marking Scheme For every correct answer, 3 marks is allotted. For every incorrect answer, 1 mark is deducted. For unattempted questions, no marks are allotted.

BITSAT Mock Tests 

BITS Pilani will be releasing a few mock tests for the students who would be appearing for BITSAT. These tests would be available on the official website 

Take these mock tests will:

  • Help students in appearing for the mail BITSAT paper 
  • A clear picture of the BITSAT 2022
  • Help students in managing the time during the exam 
  • By using the BITSAT mock test 2022, the students will be able to analyze their preparation level 

BITSAT Application Process 

  1. Visit the official website of BITS (www.bitsadmission.com) and register for BITSAT by entering basic details like personal, academic and contact details. 
  2. After entering the details students have to upload their photograph along with the signature in the specified format given on the website. 
  3. The candidates then have to make the fee payment for the application form filled by them, they can make the application fee payment either online through credit card/ debit card/ online banking or in offline mode.
  4. Students are requested to take the printout of the Application form and save details for future use.

BITSAT Slot Booking for 2022

Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani will conduct the slot booking for the students online on the official website. Students will be only issued admit card once they complete the slot booking process at a specific time. 

Step 1 – Visit the official website @bitsadmission.com.

Step 2 – Open the BITSAT slot booking link.

Step 3 – Login using the application number and password.

Step 5 – Test city will be visible to the student.

Step 6 – Select the test date from the list of available choices.

Important Timelines for BITSAT 2022

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the date of the examination is not fixed. BITS Pilani has tentatively planned for conducting BITSAT-2022 during July-August 2022. You will soon hear more details about other deadlines.

BITSAT FAQs

Q1. Some problem is coming while accessing the online application? Can I send it via post or mail?

Answer: There is no such provision of sending the application by mail or post. Candidates can send an email to bitsat2022@pilani.bits-pilani.ac.in for any queries related to the application form.

Q2. Can I apply for BITSAT 2022 if I studied or had subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Biology in class 11 and 12?

Answer: Candidates can attempt the BITSAT 2022 if they have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology but for only B Pharma program offered by the institute.

Q3. Is there any provision for correcting the application after submission?

Answer: The application form correction facility is made available on the website where students can edit the different fields.

Q4. I passed out my class 12 in the year 2019 but did not get a 75 % aggregate. Can I write BITSAT 2022 if I repeat only in a few subjects to get 75 %?

Answer: If candidates are repeating the 12th exam, it is mandatory to take the improvement exam for all the 5 subjects. If they take the improvement for only PCM/PCM, they are not eligible.

Q5. I want to appear for BITSAT 2022 but I passed my 12th in the yeaR 2021?

Answer: As per the eligibility criteria, the candidates will be eligible for BITSAT 2022.

Q6. What is the exam pattern of BITSAT 2022?

Answer: BITSAT 2022 will be conducted online in a computer-based test mode. The examination will consist of 150 multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning.
