IIT Tirupati or Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati was founded in 2015. The institute started functioning in a temporary campus at Krishna Theja Educational Institutions in Chadalawada Nagar. The permanent campus is spread over 548 acres in Merlapaka village on Yerpedu-Venkatagiri highway. The permanent campus has a hostel facility for boys and girls. With the support of IIT Madras, IIT Tirupati started functioning from 2015-16. The institute offers B.Tech., M.Tech., M.Sc., Ph.D., MPP Programmes (Master of Public Policy), and MS (research). B.Tech. courses offered at IIT Tirupati are chemical, civil, computer science and engineering, electrical, and mechanical engineering. IIT Tirupati is the first among the 3rd phase of IITs declared in 2014.
