JEE Advanced 2017 answer key (official) was released by IIT Madras recently as scheduled in the events calendar. Earlier, the Optical Response Sheet (ORS) was uploaded by the Institute along with the candidate’s scanned responses on 31 st May. The candidates were to go through their scanned responses till 3rd June. The feedback provided by candidates will be collected until 6th June at 5 pm.
Around 23 IITs will be granting admissions to students for courses in engineering including top IITs like Kharagpur, Kanpur, Delhi, Bombay Madras and so on. The ranks will be awarded to the candidates based on their scores on the test.
This year around 2.2 lakh candidates were part of the shortlist and declared eligible to appear for JEE Advanced exam on the basis of mains exam results declared on 27th April. The advanced exam was conducted on 21 May in two sessions. Among the total 2.2 lakh, candidates who were eligible for the advanced exam 19 percent were girls. The exam was held in more than 500 centres across the country.
Once the JEE Advanced results would be declared on 11th June, the process of seat allotment will begin from 19th June.
Overview Of JEE Advanced
JEE Advanced 2017 is an entrance examination taken by the engineering aspirants. JEE Advanced 2017 will be conducted by the seven Zonal Coordinating (ZC) IITs under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB). In 2017, the organizing institute for JEE Advanced is IIT Madras. Qualifying JEE Advanced serves as the parameter for ranking of candidates for admissions to the Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s and Dual degree programs in various prestigious engineering colleges across India. It comprises of two papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2) each for a three-hour duration. It is mandatory for candidates to take both the papers.
Answer key will display the correct answers to the questions asked in the examination. Various coaching institutes also release the answer key which helps candidates across the country to tally their responses and estimate their score. The organizing institute will give 2 days to the examinees for any kind of feedback and comment on the released answer keys. By cross-checking, the answers marked by candidates with the released answer key can help the candidates estimate their score. Examinees can also predict their rank in JEE Advanced with the help of JEE Advanced Rank Predictor. This, in turn, will help them choose to a college of their choice based on probable rank.
Online Display Of Optical Response Sheet (ORS) And JEE Advanced 2017 Answer key
- The Optical response sheet will be checked by the organizing institute i.e., IIT Madras. The optical response sheet of JEE Advanced paper 1 and 2 will be displayed online with the responses read by a machine.
- In a case of any discrepancy, candidates can apply for ORS review. Candidates will be charged Rs 500 per question for review.
