JEE Main 2021 New Exam Dates Announced

NTA Announces New Exam Dates for JEE Main 2021 April and May Sessions - Registrations Open

After much delay due to the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown in the country, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is ready to conduct the remaining sessions of JEE Main 2021. The exam authority has released a notification stating that the April and May sessions will be held starting 20 July.

Additionally, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ in a live session also announced the timeline for the two sessions. He stated that the April session will be conducted from July 20-25 while the May session will be conducted between July 27-August 2.

Meanwhile, NTA has also reopened the JEE Main 2021 registration window for interested candidates. They can visit the official website (jeemain.nta.nic.in.) and apply online for the entrance exam. Candidates who want to apply for the April session will be able to fill their applications from July 6th to July 8th. For the May session registrations will be opened from July 9-12.

The exam authority has also shared some information about the registered candidates. As per the data provided a total of 6.80 lakh candidates have already been registered for JEE Main April 2021. For the May session, 6.09 candidates have registered. These numbers will likely go up once the registrations are complete.

JEE Main 2021 Conditions

  • The candidates are required to note that (postponed) April Session (Session-3) will be conducted only for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.).
  • The candidates interested to appear in Paper 2A (B.Arch.) and/or Paper 2B (B. Planning) need to apply for the same papers only for (postponed) May Session (Session-4).
  • The candidates who have applied earlier for April/May Session can modify their particulars (Session, Category, Subject, etc.) during the period from 6 to 8 July 2021 for (postponed) April Session and 9 to 12 July 2021 for (postponed) May Session.
  • A candidate can also withdraw from (postponed) April/May sessions by following the procedure detailed in the Application Form.
  • The number of exam centres has also been increased from 660 to 828.
  • The number of cities has also been increased from 232 to 334.
