Karnataka CET (KCET) Medical Exam 2016

Applications are invited from eligible candidates of Karnataka for registration to the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2016 to Medical (MBBS) and Dental (BDS), B-Pharma, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Unani, Naturopathy and Yoga (ISM & H) courses.

Applications are available on the official portal of KCET. The last date to enter application details online is 13 February 2016.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. For MBBS and BDS – Candidates should have passed 2nd PUC / 12th Std / equivalent exam with English as one of the languages and obtained a minimum of 50% of Marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology subjects altogether. (40% for SC, ST and other reserved categories).
    In CET- Examination, the candidate must score a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology subjects have taken together. (40% for SC, ST and other reserved categories).
  2. For B-Pharma – Candidate should have passed 2nd PUC / 12th Std with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and obtained a Minimum of 45% of Marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology subjects. (40% for SC, ST and other reserved categories). Candidates who have passed Diploma in Pharmacy Examination can also apply for this course. No minimum marks are required in KCET.
  3. For Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Unani, Naturopathy and Yoga (ISM & H) – To apply for these courses, candidates should have passed 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the Languages and obtained a Minimum of 50% of Marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology subjects. (Aggregate of three) (40% for SC, ST and other reserved categories). No minimum marks are required in KCET.

Application Procedure

Visit the KMET portal and download the e-brochure. It is recommended to go through the manual very carefully before start applying.

Click “CET-2016 UG Online Application” and enter all the details carefully. An Application ID and Password will be auto-generated after successful completion and will be sent to the registered mobile phone number and to an email address of the candidate.

Upload scanned copy of recent passport size Photograph, Signature and Left Hand Thumb Impression which should be in JPG / JPEG format. Print the bank challan.

Karnataka domiciles have to pay an amount of Rs. 650/- for General and OBC (Rs.500/- for SC / ST). Rs.750/- in case of candidates residing outside Karnataka and Rs.5,000/- in case of candidates residing outside India.

The candidates need to pay the requisite fee in any of the branches of the Banks prescribed. The candidates who are residing outside India shall pay the fees in the form of DD drawn in favour of Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations.
