Solved Examples on Table of 31

Q.1: What is the value of 31 times of 5 added to 10?

Solution: 31 times of 5 = 31 x 5 = 155

Now if 10 is added to the above value we get;

155 + 10 = 165

Hence, 165 is the required value.

Q.2: Which of these is a multiple of 31?

42, 91, 150, 279, 371.

Solution: To check if the number is a multiple of 31, we have to divide the given number by 31. If the answer is a whole number, then it is a multiple of 31. Let us check all the numbers one by one.

42 ÷ 31 = 1.35.. (fraction)

91 ÷ 31 = 2.93.. (fraction)

150 ÷ 31 = 4.83.. (fraction)

279 ÷ 31 = 9 (whole number)

371 ÷ 31 = 11.97 (fraction)

We can see, when 279 is divided by 31, we get the whole number as a quotient but the rest of the numbers results in a fraction. Therefore, 279 is the multiple of 31.
