What Is AIIMS?

AIIMS stands for All India Institute Of Medical Science and it is headquartered in New Delhi, India. This establishment was the initiative under the act of parliament and was soon recognized as an institution of national importance. It conducts entrance examination every year for the admission of students in AIIMS MBBS courses. This institute has around 9 branches all across the country in places like New Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. AIIMS syllabus comprises topics covered in class 11 and 12 Physics, chemistry, and biology along with General Knowledge.

Fee Details

The total fees of AIIMS colleges for the MBBS courses is 5856 for 5 years for Indian Nationals.

Course Structure

The examination authority for Medical Entrance exam 2019 has announced the exam pattern of AIIMS comprising 60 questions allocated to each subject out of which

  • 40 Normal Questions
  • 20 reason-assertion type questions

The total will make up to 180 questions out of which GK will have 10 and logical/aptitude will have 10 questions.

Questions which are based on the concepts and topics of class 12 and some of them are mentioned in the table below. Biology is divided into Zoology and Botany.

Application Procedure

The application form can only be filled through online mode only. Candidates have to visit the AIIMS website and register themselves in the MBBS course tab. After carefully reading the guidelines page, they can proceed to the submission. After the submission, they will receive SMS and Email indicating the application number, password and the status of the application.

Next, candidates have to upload their latest photograph, signature, and thumb impression. The fee can be paid through online mode only using debit/credit card or internet banking. The application fee for General and OBC candidates is 1000/- and SC/ST candidates is 800/-. Orthopaedic Physically Handicapped candidates are exempted from exam fees.

The documents required in time of counselling are:

  • Admit card,
  • Call letter issued by AIIMS, New Delhi
  • Proof of Date of Birth
  • Matriculation/High School Certificate
  • Birth Certificate issued by Municipal Corporation office.
  • Certificate/Marksheet
  • Migration certificate from the University/Board last attended.
  • 6 Copy of photographs.
  • One copy of self-attested copies of all the certificates.
