MBBS/BDS Seats in India through NEET

NEET 2020 is the most anticipated and coveted exam of the year where students get an opportunity to pursue their medical aspirations. All candidates aim to get into their dream colleges but only few manage to get through due to the restriction on seat availability in both MBBS and BDS courses.

NEET is slated to be conducted on May 3rd 2020. This pen-paper test carried in the offline mode is a 3-hour long test with 80% of its syllabus constituted by the class 11 & 12 syllabus. Medical seats have been increased up to 5200 with the inclusion of 10% reservation under EWS category (Economically Weaker Section), as NEET is the single level examination for admissions to approximately 76,928 MBBS seats, 26, 949 BDS seats in nearly 532 medical colleges and 313 dental colleges across India. With this increase in the number of seats, there are more chances now than ever for aspirants to get through NEET and hence to medical institutes in private, government, central/deemed institutes.

For the academic year 2020-2021, as stated by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare(MoHFW), the authorities for New Delhi, Puducherry, AIIMS, JIPMER will decide NEET scores for candidates seeking admission to around 1,205 AIIMS MBBS, and around two hundred JIPMER MBBS seats that are presented in different colleges.

The column also states the details of the gross intake in all INI( Institute of National Importance) JIPMER and AIIMS institutes apart from the MBBS and BDS seats presented in India through these exams.

MBBS/BDS seats in India – Increase In The Number Of Seats

To put up with these necessities, the Government of India has been striving to increase the seat availability in medical and dental colleges in view of the increasing requirements of India’s exponentially growing healthcare division through the NEET exams year on year. Here the objective is to pervade more and more doctors in this field and hence intensify the system.
